๐ฏ๐ฅ Spicy Grilled Shawarma Roll
This spicy grilled shawarma roll is all about bold flavor—smoky chicken, creamy sauce, and a proper spicy kick wrapped in soft roti or paratha. It’s simple to make at home and tastes like something you’d usually grab from a street food shop.
๐งพ Ingredients
๐ Chicken
- 500g boneless chicken (thin slices)
- 3 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika or red chili powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
๐ฏ Wrap
- Roti / paratha / tortilla
- Sliced onions
- Sliced cucumber
- Lettuce (optional)
๐ฅ Spicy Sauce
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tsp hot sauce
- Pinch of chili flakes
๐ณ Method
1. Marinate the chicken
Mix yogurt, spices, garlic, lemon juice, oil, and salt in a bowl.
Add the chicken and coat it well.
Let it sit for at least 30 minutes so the flavor actually goes inside.
2. Grill the chicken
Heat a pan or grill and cook the chicken on medium-high heat.
You want it slightly charred on the outside and juicy inside—not dry.
That little smoky edge is what makes it taste like real shawarma.
3. Prep the wrap
Warm your roti or paratha for a few seconds so it becomes soft and easy to roll.
Spread a layer of spicy mayo sauce over it.
4. Add filling
Add:
- grilled chicken
- onions
- cucumber
- lettuce
Then drizzle a bit more sauce on top.
5. Roll it up
Wrap it tightly so it holds everything inside.
If you’re using paratha, you can toast it lightly on a pan for a crispy outer layer.
